M. Christian Mitchell, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Marshall & Stevens

Mr. Mitchell serves as the vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Marshall & Stevens. He has over thirty-four years experience advising investors, federal agencies, senior management and corporate boards of directors on financial reporting, risk management, valuation, governance, regulation, capital markets and mergers and acquisitions in the financial services and real estate finance industries. He is also active in the corporate governance community and an experienced corporate board member.

Mr. Mitchell is a director of Special Value Opportunities Fund LLC, an $850 million registered investment fund managed by Tennenbaum Capital Partners, LLC, Santa Monica; First Chicago Bancorp, a bank holding company originally sponsored by the private equity firm Castle Creek Capital; Reis, Inc. (NASDAQ: REIS), a New York-based real estate information company; and Grandpont Capital, a Los Angeles-based bank holding company with $350 million in capital commitments. He chairs the Audit Committees of all four firms and is a member of other committees including Transaction, Compensation, Nominating and Corporate Governance and Risk committes. He is formerly a director of Hamni Financial Corporation, a $4 billion Los Angeles bank holding company.

Mr. Mitchell retired from Deloitte in 2003 as the National Managing Partner of the Mortgage Banking and Finance Companies practice. During his 26-year career at Deloitte he also served as Regional Managing Partner for various practices including audit, enterprise risk services, and financial services. Mr. Mitchell also served as the Associate National Managing Partner for the Banking and Thrift practice and as a partner in the mergers and acquisitions and capital markets practice.

In addition, Mr. Mitchell served as an Accounting Fellow to the Federal Home Loan Board in Washington, D.C. from 1985 to 1987. Mr. Mitchell has served as an adjunct professor of accounting and is currently a guest lecturer at the University of Redlands. In addition, Mr. Mitchell is the Chapter President of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), Southern California and for 2011 designated an NACD Board Leadership Fellow. Mr. Mitchell is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama.
