Andy Sale, Partner, Ernst & Young LLP

Andy Sale is Ernst & Young’s Americas Automotive Leader, where he assists our account teams to deliver exceptional client service and industry insights to our clients in North and South America. In this role, Andy advises clients on a multitude of financial, operational, and corporate governance matters. He also serves as a member of the firm’s global Automotive Industry Executive Committee, where he guides the activities of Ernst & Young’s Global Automotive Center. Over the course of his 27 years with Ernst & Young, Andy has served as the lead partner to many of the firm’s major global clients in the automotive, entertainment, financial services and consumer/industrial products industries. His service as a lead partner has included the performance of both assurance and advisory services. He also currently serves as the Advisory Services Leader in the Greater Los Angeles area.

In addition to his service to clients, Andy was appointed by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System to serve as a Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco (Los Angeles Branch) since 2007, and has served as its Chairman in 2008 and 2009, during the height of the financial crisis. In this capacity, Andy has assisted the Federal Reserve in the establishment of monetary policy by providing information about the economic factors faced by companies with operations in the western U.S. Andy is also passionate about community service, particularly as it relates to creating opportunities for disadvantaged youth in our community. In this regard, Andy has led Ernst & Young’s community service efforts in the southwestern U.S. and has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the California Science Center Foundation, where he currently serves as a member of its executive committee, audit committee, and as the chairman of the foundation’s finance committee.

Andy graduated in 1985 with a BSC-Accounting from Santa Clara University. He is a certified public accountant (California) and is a member of the California Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
