Betsy is president and co-founder of Berkhemer Clayton Inc., retained executive search firm headquartered in downtown Los Angeles, specializing in senior level searches for communications, investor relations, finance, and boards of directors for corporations, universities and large nonprofit organizations.
She and business partner Fred Clayton launched Berkhemer Clayton in 1994. Corporate clients include GAP, Bank of America, Mattel, KIA Motors, Disney, Raytheon, Toyota, Edison, SoCal Gas Company, Farmers Insurance. University clients include USC, UCLA, UC-Irvine, Caltech and University of Michigan. Nonprofit clients include City of Hope, Kaiser Permanente, L.A. Betsy chairs the Los Angeles/Orange County chapter of Women Corporate Directors, a global nonprofit network of women directors currently on public and private corporate boards. She is a board member of the NAWBO-CA Statewide National Association of Women Business Owners and Southern California Leadership Network (SCLN); and previously served on the California Utilities Diversity Council and the consumer advisory board of Southern California Edison. Before establishing Berkhemer Clayton, Betsy launched, built, and sold one of the largest independent public relations agencies in Los Angeles. A graduate of UCLA, she began her career as a journalist, then publicist for Disney Studios and NBC.
She lives in Little Tokyo, downtown Los Angeles, with her husband Cris Credaire
